PLEASE HELP We Received A Final Disconnection Notice From Our Power Company - Florida Power
& Light
Please Scroll Down To Read About Our Dilemma And You May Donate If You Would Like Too We received a final disconnect notice from FPL.We may not be able to keep the doors open
without power.
One of our supporters suggested for us to call the Florida Public Service Commission and file a
complaint with their Consumer Assistance Bureau to find out why our bills are so high.
We contacted The Florida
Public Service Commission and they contacted Florida Power and Lights on our behalf and FPL scheduled an Energy Audit on Friday
January 30.2009 .
FPL will be checking the meter and our units for efficiency. This will let us know were the
problem is and what needs to be done.
These actions protected our account for one week only and FPL can not turn
the power off until after they have conducted their Energy Audit on Friday January 30.2009.
The outstanding balance
that we owe Florida Power and Light is 2,478.75 And the current month bill is 597.98 , for a total of $3.076.73
If we do not pay them the outstanding balance of 2,478.75
, it will mean lights out for us.
The good news is that
last week over $300.00 dollars in donations came in just for the FPL bil.
This is a great start yet we need to come up with 2,478.75 by Friday. We have two AC / Heat units. One is on the 2000 sq foot " Haven
". And one is on our second building which is 800 sq foot and is refereed to the Kitty Angel Club .
Boca Grande Air came out and did their Bi-yearly Maintenance. The
Kitty Angle's Club AC/Heat Unit is in better shape than the Haven's unit. The Haven's A-Coil is shot and we just replaced it four years ago. We definitely need a new system ,with updated
duct work in the Haven. Once again we have to wait until we
can get the funds to replace the units. But as of now we are in desperate need of funds to pay the outstanding balance of the FPL bill before January 30th, 2009.
So if you would like to help Puffy Paws
keep the lights on. Please do ! Any amount will help.
You may
donate on-line below, or you may send a check in the mail or stop by the Haven.
Please
make all checks payable too.

Puffy Paws Kitty Haven -
Update January 16. 2009

Residential Feral Cats Were Spayed or Neutered
Yes, we do have residential
feral cats living at Puffy Paws Kitty Haven. A good feral kitty uses their litter box and does not tear
up the Haven.
They are socialized with the other kitties here at the Haven, You may not be able to pet them but
the love in their eyes as they make eye contact with you tells the whole story.
It sad but feral cats are euthanized at other highly publicize traditional shelters and or rescues or they do
not even take them because they are highly unadoptable to the average citizen .
What folks may not realize is that
Puffy Paws Kitty Haven’s feral cats will make a great addition to the person who wants companionship solely for their
other cat or for that person with that special heart and who completely understands the limits a feral kitty has or
a person who already has an indoor feral kitty.
Did I mention we are starting an Puffy Paws Kitty Haven feral
kitty awareness campaign ? We are ! And this is a teaser plug. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.
So to make a long story short we had 12 of our residential feral cats spayed or neutered by the ARC Mobile Spay/Neuter Clinic
on January 11, 2009. We are so happy that this was done by such a great organization.

Kitty
Angel Park
We are working hard on the Kitty Angel Park, for those of you who do not know that we take care
of kitties with Feline Leukemia which are housed in a portion (400 sq feet ) in our second building which is 800 sq foot and
is refereed to the “ Kitty Angel Club ”.
We call it the “ Kitty Angel Club ”
because these kitties are living Angels because they would have been euthanized at other highly publicize traditional shelters
and or rescues because of their medical condition.
Now these guys would love to be outside enjoying the fresh air
and now they will be enjoying an out-door, free-standing, backyard fence system
thanks to the folks from Purr...fect fence.
We have been working really hard in getting the grounds ready, in
clearing a ton of stones, laying stones, pressure washing, so that we may lay sod, so we may put up the Purr..fect fence. If you woulkd like to help us put up the fence please call.

Adoptions
We had 7 kitties get
adopted out in December. And one family is so happy with fat little Sausage , that they are going
to adopt his brother Monkey, this week. Yeah

From Comcast to Verizon
We were without
internet, a land line phone and the kitties could not watch Animal Planet for a couple days
We switched
to Verizon from Comcast. A scheduling error on my part left us with out service.
We are sorry about any inconveniences this has may caused .
Because we switch providers we do have a new E-mail address. Our new e-mail
address is puffypawskittyhaven@verizon.net
Our old E-mail address
gmgs@comcast.net is no longer valid.
